DINOSAUR ILLUSTRATION CASE STUDY
Well what can I say. Creating a brief for a personal project isn’t particularly challenging. I just think of something to draw and then I draw it. So for example, I really, really liked dinosaurs as a kid and I still kind of do. Actually I still really do. So for this particular personal project I drew a picture of a dinosaur. See. Cool huh. Von Zipper bought this drawing off me after I done did it. Which is also cool huh?
EXPERIENCE
I guess I’ve been drawing personal Illustrations for 30 years. My earliest recorded drawing is a picture of a dude drawing a cat, I like the drawing of the cat because it’s a polka dot cat. Professionally I’ve been illustrating and getting paid for it for about 15 years. I started off getting paid to paint murals when I was in Bundaberg at high school.
STRATEGY
When I’m creating something for myself I usually have one goal in mind. To draw something that I don’t want to throw up on. If I succeed, then I am happy. Usually I succeed. Actually, to date, I have never thrown up on myself. That’s a 100% success rate in the area of personal illustration.
