Metagraphics begins the process of design and illustration with a cup of coffee. The project is discussed clearly with the key people involved and this stage seeks to understand the goals of the project and the people involved.
Through processing the people and purpose it is possible to understand what are we doing, why are we doing it, who are we doing it for and when will it be delivered. Like a marriage, good communication is the key to success.
RESEARCH
Taking the dialogue as a catalyst Metagraphics undertakes relevant research. Good research involves more than a cursory reading of the wikipedia entry on the subject. Demographics, Design History, Colour Theory, Visual Trends and relevant industry categories are searched for, analyised, reflected on, documented and synthesized.
This becomes the foundation for an appropriate approach to the visual communication development process.
DEVELOPMENT
The process of development begins with brainstorming and visualisation. The key component to this aspect is the production of thumbnails, sketches and graphic doodles. Nothing beats drawing. The best ideas and concepts come from sketches and the purpose of drawing is to capture form that expresses an idea.
By exploring forms the mind dances from one concept to another intuitively, rapidly and gracefully. From the initial process of pencil on paper the project fluidly progresses in stages of development that finalise in an end product.
DELIVERY
Prior to delivering the final project the development is scrutinised for flaws and improvements. Once Metagraphics is sure that the product is ready for presentation the client is delivered the conceptual development for their own evaluation and understanding.
